Aubrey Qwana Announces New Album ‘MKABAYI The Album’ With Trailer

Renowned Afro-pop sensation Aubrey Qwana is finally dropping his debut album titled ‘MKABAYI The Album’ which is named after his late mother, Mkabayi ka Mbhabhama. 

The album ‘MKABAYI The Album’ is a dedication to his late mother, honouring her for all the love and sacrifices she made for him. Aubrey’s mother lived up to the iconic kingmaker and visionary who she was named after, Princess “Mkabayi ka Jama” from the Zulu kingdom.

Princess “Mkabayi ka Jama” played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Zulu Nation. Her commitment to her people and the vision of her ancestors and her unparalleled strategic thinking make her a true icon in Zulu history.

‘MKABAYI The Album’ is also a testament to his artistry and unique sound, which infuses traditional African influences with contemporary pop sensibilities which has resonated with listeners of all backgrounds making him a multi-platinum-selling artist.

Aubrey has joined forces with some of the most talented artists in the industry; Makhadzi, Sjava and Mnqobi Yazo, just to name a few. This is what he had to say about the album: “This album reflects my personal and musical growth over the years. It’s a celebration of my roots and an exploration of new musical landscapes. I poured my heart and soul into every track, and I cannot wait for my fans to experience this journey with me” says Aubrey Qwana.

‘MKABAYI’ is set to be available on all major streaming platforms and digital music stores on the 25th of August 2023 and Aubrey Qwana decided to release a small trailer to his YouTube channel to give you a taste of things to come.
