Fresh from his whirlwind world Stadium Tour that saw him make history by becoming the first African artist to headline a stadium show in the USA, Burna Boy is bringing his show stopping ways back to South Africa.
The Grammy award winning Nigerian singer-songwriter will continue his tour in South Africa, Johannesburg at the FNB Stadium on September 23, 2023.
The ‘Last Last’ hitmaker made waves in South Africa when he headlined the Delicious Festival last year to a rousing fanfare. Followers and supporters of the African megastar will once again be mesmerised by his many hits including ‘Ye’, ‘Bank On It’ and ‘Anybody’ from acclaimed albums ‘Love, Damini’ (2022), ‘African Giant’ (2019) and ‘Twice as Tall’ (2020) among others.
Burna Boy has solidified his status as one of the greatest African stars after being awarded the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic plaque for his achievements in music. Earlier this year Rolling Stone ranked him number 197 on its list of the 200 greatest singers of all time. Burna Boy is a multi-award-winning artist whose music has taken over the world.
"African talent knows no bounds and Burna Boy is the best example of that. Not only was he the first Nigerian artist to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York. He continued on to headline and sell out stadium shows in both London and New York. This African giant's footsteps speak for themselves, and we are convinced he will be able to do the same at FNB stadium in September”, stated Ternary Music Group CEO, Sedote Nwachukwu.
Describing his music as Afro-fusion, blending the genres R&B, hip hop, dancehall, and reggae, Burna Boy continues to use his creativity to bring new sounds to the fore. His most recent song, ‘Sitting On Top Of The World’ infuses the Darkchild and Brandy hit with his Afro fusion, making it an instant, refreshing hit.
Burna Boy’s generous catalogue of Afrobeats hits is sure to make this Stadium spectacular a memorable one.
