Nigerian-born, Belgium-based artist April Maey has her next single ‘Like I Care’ in the pipeline and will be going live on July 28.
April Maey whose soul is rooted in Alternative Rhythm and Blues music says she loves telling authentic stories and express her emotions in songs and “Like i Care” is one of them.
“I’m very focused on artistic expression, but my sound ranges from soulful to rhythmic and introspective too expansive in its scope, making it more than lyrical storytelling,” April says.
‘Like i Care’ is heartfelt ballad is an ode to the marginalised and disenfranchised, calling on society to care more about others.
The music industry is suffering a mental health and wellness crisis. Now more than ever artists and others in the industry are losing their lives to depression, suicide, substance abuse, poor health and even gun violence.
April Maey is spearheading a mental health initiative for the global music industry in partnership with grassroots organisational networks to make a much-needed change. ‘Like I Care’ is the anthem for this initiative.
The release will be supported by an official music video and an on the ground initiative called ‘Like i Care Community.’
