After a string of EPs and single releases, Bugzito returns with his debut album, ‘Dilo Tlhakana’; A Pirtori term which translates to ‘things come/ coming together’.
The 17-track Hip-Hop project comprises contributions from Thato Saul, Lolli Native, Chad Da Don and many more.
This body of work is musically driven by a kwaito inspired production further enhancing the ‘Stofo’ sound. It is a combination of street anthems, high energy beats, slow groove accompanied by self-introspective storytelling, mostly narrated through the Pitori Rap Style, ‘Sprakathi’.
It unpacks the highs and lows of being an independent artist and highlights the ongoing pressure of the grind and dealing with the criticism and losses that come with it.
Bugzito doesn’t hold back when it comes to expressing the war and triumph with himself. He intentionally lets the listener in and engages them while showing them the various perspectives of a man who took longer to make his dreams come true.
‘Dilo Tlhakana’ is also about a man who eventually pulls through, even if it seems he has finished last.
“It’s a journey of looking back, owning up to mistakes and forgiving oneself whilst letting go of the past and actively looking forward to a bright future because in the end, things do eventually come together.”
The producers and features are predominantly Pretoria based artists.
