Stilo Magolide represents the west in the music video for his new single, ‘Back To The Kaap’ featuring YoungstaCPT.
In the visuals, the duo is seen exploring the Mother City. There is a striking theme of reference to the classic American Hip-Hop culture such as the logo on Stilo’s t-shirt of the 1991 American coming-of-age film, ‘Boyz In The Hood’ printed as ‘Boyz In The Kaap’, as well as the American record label, Deathrow Records t-shirt worn by YoungstaCPT.
Some clips from the visuals are shot in Youngsta CPT’s clothing store in Cape Town, ‘Y?Gen Apparel’ where they show off some of his merch. We see a stunning view of Table Mountain as well as some shops in the city such as Cosy Corners.
In the song, Stilo and YoungstaCPT represent Kaapstad through their distinguishable lyrical performances.
At times throughout the song, Stilo’s flow is reminiscent of 2pac’s cadence while YoungstaCPT delivers a strengthened version of his signature sound.
