Yesterday afternoon, SKHANDAWORLD announced they were shedding their roster, parting ways with Ma-E, JustBheki and DJ Mr. X.
The announcement stated that media enquiries and communication to Ma-E, JustBheki & DJ Mr X will now not be affiliated with SKHANDAWORLD or Universal Music South Africa, but can be directed to the artist and/or their respective management.
The label, which is in a partnership with Universal Music South Africa, didn’t state any reason for the move, but instead shared their well wishes for the artists. “We would like to wish all of the above-mentioned artists nothing but immense success in their respective careers, may they continue to spread their wings and exceed the limitations of the sky,” the press release read.
This leaves SKHANDAWORLD with Roiii, Loki and K.O on its roster. The crew dropped their first label project, ‘Welcome To The Planet’ in 2021, which won Mixtape of the Year at the SAHHAs in 2022. “SKHANDAWORLD will continue to serve the industry with music, and you can surely expect new releases from artists affiliated with the label soon,” the press release concluded.
