@akaworldwide & @KhuliChana Pen Out Their Love Letters To Their Partners In New Single, 'Prada'

By @OfentsePhukubye on 01/20/2023 in Music

Following the release of his platinum selling single 'Lemons (Lemonade)' is AKA as he returns with the 3rd lead single to his forthcoming album 'Mass Country'. 'Prada' features the legendary Khuli Chana as they both infuse their raps with heartwarming love letters to their partners. The single is opened up by a mellow, upbeat instrumental mixed with an ear catching looped high pitch voice of which is accompanied by a catchy hook sang by the Supamega himself.

AKA then graces the song with his well penned epistle to Nadia Nakai as he raps on celebrating their love as nothing can come between their long lasting endearment, not even a fight on Valentine's Day hence the line "...what's next, Valentines never makes sense...". The hook then symbolises how much flowers mean nothing as they can die anytime but not that 'Prada' product as it would represent the unity and foreverness in the physical form of their relationship as well as the quality of their relationship hence the line "You got to buy me Prada, don't buy me flowers...".

He is then joined by a verse from Khuli Chana as he raps about how life starts at 40 as well as the first Rolex he received being from his wife and him saying goodbye to his old ways. Khuli Chana further expands his verse with how life has changed and the convenience that money can bring to a relationship from the products of leisure to the journey of the relationship as it is a 'only death will tear us apart' type love and this is beautiful as he has been married to Lamiez for the past 4 years and they going strong. This for me is a delightful letter to his wife as they expect their first child together as well.

Overall, the mellifluous single 'Prada' is all about the nice things you can do for your partner on a regular aside of just celebrating them with generous gestures on Valentines, you can do a lot more for them on a daily basis. And it also touches on how beautiful the journey of love can be if you are all understanding, patient and genuine towards one another as well as the joy that love can bring in one's life.

This is a must add to your playlist as Valentines day prepares for its occurrence. The single first premiered last week on two Apple Music Shows as well as on BBC Radio this week. Finally we have the anthem for Valentines day as we get into the season of love all in courtesy of Supamega and the Mostwako reginator. 'Prada' is the activating single for the Pre-order of 'Mass Country' as it is complimented by a stunning art cover designed by the eminent, Karabo Poppy. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did. I will definitely be having it on repeat.
