Q&A: @bravoleroux Breaks Down His Relationship With Fashion Retailer @thefixza

By @SabeloMkhabela_ on 01/13/2023 in News

Cape Town hip-hop frontrunner Bravo Le Roux has an ongoing relationship with fashion retailer The Fix that has him and his fans excited. It’s definitely a win and a step in the right direction not just for Bravo Le Roux but for Cape Town hip-hop which has come a long way to getting the national recognition it’s currently enjoying.

We caught up with Bravo Le Roux and he broke down the partnership, what it entails and what it means to him.

How did the partnership with The Fix come about?

It was quite organic. They asked me to be part of a campaign about mental health and I was there and they really liked me. After the campaign, they were like, ‘yo we would like to work with you on bigger things.’ Afterwards, they had plans for us, they were calling Leo and talking to Dudu about it and I was keen. I was like, ‘yo let’s do it,’ and it started small with a young photo shoot and they sent me clothes and then they dressed me. Right now, we on billboards, and we doing other bigger things in the coming months.

Are there any chances of bringing your merch into their stores?

We are currently in talks about that. It’s like a fresh new deal and everything. But we are trying to see how we can put together, my own merch maybe in selected stores. But this is a new relationship and we are looking at how we can grow each other and add value [to each other’s brands].

What does this partnership mean to you?

This means so much for my career, man. I don’t even wanna lie. I understand people know me as a rapper, but I believe I’m more than that. I haven’t shown my potential and other things I’m great at. So, I’m trying to explore and venture into everything I like. And just get it on. I grew up loving fashion so much, and, for me to be working with a commercial label, that is really amazing  for me, my career and everything I stand for. For the laaities to understand ukuthi you don’t have to only do one thing, bro. I don’t believe ukuthi ek se you can be great if you just focus on one thing. So, it really means a lot, it’s the start of beautiful things. In future, we are looking at opening our own shops, though.
