Durban kwaito duo Big Nuz end 5-year hiatus with the release of ‘Ngeke’ which features (or is produced by) Dj Yamza. Big Nuz are still in-tune with the times as the song takes a leaf out of Cape Town’s style of gqom which is characterised by the synths you are used to hearing from traditional SA gospel as popularised by the duo Mshayi & Mr Thela.
Big Nuz last dropped a single on their own in 2017 with ‘Sibongile’. Word is the duo are dropping an album in the near future. The last time Big Nuz dropped a project was with 2015’s ‘For The Fans’, which was their first drop since the death of their third member R Mashesha in the same year.
The remaining members have been pursuing solo careers with Mamphintsha working closely with Babes Wodumo while Danger dropped a collaborative album with L’vovo titled ‘Sgubhu Overdoze’ in 2020. It’s great to see Big Nuz come together again and remind the game that istayela sabo siyashisa.
