Yesterday, Makhadzi shared a message to her fans about the album on Facebook:
“Please have fun and be responsible. I made ‘African Queen 2.0’ for the N1 in your cars and/or taxis, for the weddings, for taverns, for Sandton, for the villages, for ekasi, for gym, for the parties and, most importantly, for the world. I hope this new music will continue to make you feel less stress and help you cope. You deserve to be happy and I love you very much.”
‘African Queen 2.0’ is a sequel to 2021’s smash ‘African Queen’ which holds the record for being the most streamed South African album by a woman artist. She might just fuck around and break her own record. Time will tell, but one thing that’s guaranteed, African Queen 2 will be everywhere this summer.
