Rashid Kay, who wears many hats in SA hip-hop including podcaster, radio presenter, event organiser and other things, is primarily a rapper. He’s been dropping albums since the 2000s, with his first one, ‘The Arrival’, having dropped in 2006.
His latest album ‘RA The Son God’ came out last week and it features the likes of Golden Shovel, Towdeemac, F-Eezy, PdotO, Chad da Don and a few others. Interestingly another album of his of he same title was released n 2013. The title is a play on words; “Ra” is the name of a god of ancient Egypt who was considered the god of the sun.
The album has divided fans; while some feel it’s a masterpiece and a worthy listen, a reasonable number of fans aren’t convinced.
