Grammy award-winning singer, composer and producer, Manana shows off his vocal range and lyrical skill in his latest body of work titled, ‘Comma’. The E.P houses four tracks where Manana worked alongside London Rhodes, Max, Yimeeka and Noble. The multi-talented musician delivered an amazing lyrical experience with this project, evoking feelings of passion, love, and heartbreak in this heart-wrenching, but feel-good package.
The musical interloper, Manana, remains poignant in his lyricism throughout the E.P where he is explorative in genres including Afrobeat and Log Drum. ‘Inside’ is the focal track out of all four refreshing, powerful singles, where Manana gives an insight about the song as he expresses the following:
“This song is about family. It’s about feeling at home in a place that might not necessarily be your home, and knowing that where your people are, there’s good times and peace, always!”
My personal favourite is the first single ‘Umbilical’, which is a heart-warming, melodious tune with metaphorical language in its lyrics, which simply tugs at my heartstrings! The song has a well-balanced and exceptionally executed vocal structure, making this fine jam the perfect beginning to a euphonious, well-composed body of work. Manana really touched hearts with this beautiful masterpiece.
