It is with gratitude that I present you Mpho Sebina's first release of the year 'Tsela Tshweu'. The talented singer and songwriter took to tease the visuals in bit size and we were all excited to hear how the full song sounds like and what it actually it is about. I indeed waited with excitement in the comfort of my room today as I breezed through DSPs in the morning looking for the drop but with unfortunate she never released it this morning so I thought maybe it is delayed or not dropping on DSPs at all and it turns out I was right.
I noticed in the early afternoons that it was a YouTube exclusive as I received a notification from YouTube about the premiere. My heart then began beating at probably a pace of '250KM/H' (hysterically speaking) as I was swept away by joy as if I am 8 years and getting candy for the first time in a month. I then set my reminder to watch the video and indeed I was awed by the creative direction taken.
The 'mini live performance' showcases Mpho Sebina singing/reciting her self-written 'Setswana Soul 'heart-break song as she speaks on a man that never bothered to see her value in the relationship if there is anything he was more or less there for the wrong reasons as he never showed her genuine love to an extent where she felt as if she would never find love ever. But right after her leaving this relationship, she realised how restraint she was as she couldn't be herself to an extent she spent time trying to figure herself out by simply learning to love again and this is taken in action by her loving herself as no one will do it for her.
Now this heart break single showed me to not seek for validation from others as they can never validate you. Only you have the power to validate yourself and it also goes on to show whatever standard or structure you have of Love should be given by you to yourself before trying to find it in your potential partner as you can easily get lost in that world.
This is indeed a very beautiful way to establish your return to music and I cannot wait for more content from Mpho Sebina.
