By @AtlehangMoloi on 10/07/2022 in Projects You Should Hear

Melzi Wa Batho does it again. the certified hit maker, unleashes his highly anticipated EP Mdala. Using his own family name as the title of this project, DJ Melzi places much importance on this EP. There are nine fantastic tracks on Mdala that are sure to get you moving and shaking. DJ Melzi, who lives in the UK now, makes it a point not to forget his South African family. After the success of his 20 year Old King album in 2021, the multi-talented DJ continues to consistently release new music. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned individuals like Steve Ray Ladson, now that he has access to larger opportunities. He doesn't forget the core of his fan base, who keep him going because he has features that keep the African chants high.

Melzi has had an absolutely phenomenal year, securing the brand partnership agreement with Bumbu and Luc Belaire, moving to the United Kingdom, collaborating with legendary artists, and meeting artists like Rick Ross. Dj Melzi continues to grow himself as a brand, businessman and most importantly a musician. On this new EP, you can hear the development. The ambitious ambition of the Baykele hitmaker sets him apart from his peers. He has created a unique musical path for himself using elements that are not typical to amapiano sounds. He continues to shine because he is one of the most musical amapiano producers in the business.

The instruments blend perfectly with the vocals, the opening part is quite catchy, it’s the kind of opening that would want you to listen more. the bells chords are very accentuated, they are the instruments that you will never miss and will want you to hearken the song properly, alongside with the saxophone. Mdala is about letting yourself be, removing the pessimistic energy, acceptance of all things positive, removing all the dark thoughts and opening yourself to more lightness in your life, never give up, be patient and eventually there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
