Durban Singer And Songwriter @Yashna_Int Is 'Hot On The Streets'

By @OfentsePhukubye on 10/06/2022 in Hot On The Streets

Yashna, a passionate and soulful Durban based singer-songwriter, began singing from the moment she could catch a melody. She joined the school choir in 2009 and has been fixed in music ever since. Yashna started recording her own music in 2016 with one of the city’s most prominent developers’ of local talent; sound engineer, producer, deejay, and mentor, Wandile ‘Teabag’ Ngidi.

Paying homage to independent great Russ Diemon, who at the beginning of his career released a song a week, before catapulting into being one of the biggest, and most successful independent artists of our time. Yashna has decided to follow suit by sharing a story a week, through song, highlighting her struggles, and complicated emotions. These 5 singles were produced by versatile producer Neo Ndawo, and was recorded at Hitside Studios.

This release was incredibly successful, so far 3/5 songs received playlisting on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify, while her single Fun Tonight is currently on high rotation on one of the biggest radio stations in South Africa, Ukhozi FM.

Here is why Yashna is 'Hot On The Streets' this week:
