Talented Singer and Songwriter, Maline Aura is out to take us on an African Journey through her new single titled, 'iFu' with Platinum selling music producer and DJ, Karyendasoul. I first heard the song this morning on Karyendasoul's manager's status, Valentine and I was like to myself, 'How come I haven't heard of this artist before? Is it maybe that I am not too exposed to the art that is being released in South Africa?'. I then said to myself, let me listen to the full single and I was so mind blown.
The single for me served as an or rather more of an 'African Prayer' per-say through house music and the crazy thing is that the music touches far beyond the mind as you get taken on a journey that you wouldn't want to stop as it is a very wonderful journey. See it as a moment where you crackle open your favourite box of cereal and oh man, you cannot wait to dig in and just at the end of finishing the cereal you get left with the left over milk from devouring the delicious cereal and all you do is take the bowl of left over cold milk and just sip it in an angulated manner and now that coldness just hits the throat different, leaving you with a flavour of not only the cereal but then the milk and now you find yourself craving for more but you can't have more because you are full. Now in this instance you are not full but rather hungry for more and all your ears want to do is listen to more and more of the song as Maline's eccentric voice just draws in.
Very less words and more hook. The song for me speaks to me from a mental perspective and it allowed me to start my morning off to a great start as the positive driven single just pushes you to go after your dreams. It is how you choose to narrate the song but what she is really trying to say throughout the single is that your dreams are possible and will become a reality and this is what she spends time singing about to a point where it feels more like a prayer than a song.
