AJourneyOfMilez is a rare breed of talent. A music producer and DJ known for his electronic tribal afro sound, his seasoned taste, stories and compositions are inspired by not his self consciousness only but his pilgrim like experiences. His last single “Mhlaba” is written from an innocent view of the world through a child's eye, a longing for an escape to a time when reality was internal, formed in which ever taste or shape we willed. This is underlined by the mysterious vocals by Mbalizethu singing a spiritual chant and cry written in isiZulu "Mhlaba! ungangivusi ngisaphupha” translating to "World! Do not wake me up, i am still dreaming”.
Now analogue maestros Shayde, mainly known from their releases on Connaisseur and their own fabulous imprint Turbolenz, are on remix duty for „Mhlaba“. The Offenbach-based artist duo turned the epic and demanding Afro House builder into dirty Techno cut with alienated and hypnotic vocals. Building Bridges with a fist bump.
