Flash Ikumkani and his entourage presents the city in a sweeping, panoromic view and his ruralness is strikingly impressionistic. In this project he is rarely unique, particular, and explores himself extensivly. #FromEC2Jozi records an encounter rather than an impression, and this encounter is defined by city streets, where events are contingent and inconsequential.
The lead single encompasses the overall message of the project by the hook stating: "Bebe lele ngoku siyaba vusa, xa sifika ivele ibe ngu qhusa, phethy gang gang pethy gquba, silapha eJoburg siya grumba." (They were sleeping we woke them, when we arrive there's chaos, with the gang gang with the mob, we're in Joburg hustling.)
