Kay Faith finally brings out her long-awaited body of work, showcasing her firm grip on the pulse of the South African hip hop industry, and it’s out now on all major streaming platforms.

Antithesis is a rhetorical device in which an opposition or contrast of ideas is expressed, and this exactly embodies the process of how the album was pieced together.

Hotly dubbed “Your favorite rapper’s favorite producer” Kay Faith brings her an award-winning engineering and record producing skills to her own compilation, “The vision behind this project is to continue my experimentation of taking contrasting elements and getting them to work in unity to create something beautiful in all aspects, not just audible, but also visually.” she says.

Taking artists out of what is considered “their sound" and fusing them with something different that can still be consumed with ease and most of all, enjoyment, contrast is largely used by Kay throughout the album to create energy, themes and to showcase diversity as a producer.

We see Kay furthering her comfortable position in the realm of hip hop with hard-hitting tracks such as ‘Proudly Capetonian’ with YoungstaCPT and E-JayCPT ‘ Amamenemene’ with Bravo Le Roux and Venus Raps and ‘Slay Queen’, as well as a glimpse of her venturing into pop and alternative sounds with tracks like ‘Shark Week’ and ‘Cinderella’.

With album artwork created by renowned South African artist African Ginger, the album is in itself a work of art. Antithesis is the evolution of Kay Faith’s sound and her creative ability, a mashup of sound and cultures, backgrounds and visual ideas.
