@DStv Announces The Nominees For The @ContentAwardsSA

On the 9th of April DSTV Announced the first ever Content Creators Awards in SA and has since received the right amount of attention. The DSTv Content Creators Awards and it's partners from 'One-eyed Jack' to 'TikTok' and many more have identified the gap in the content creation space as Lockdown introduced us to a lot of talents on social media and has shown us that if one uses social media the right way, they can go far. These days there is no need to wait for opportunities to be created for us as we can create our own opportunities through the resources we have around us like the internet and of course it's companion, 'Our Cellphones'.

We knew that content creation was the direction that many youth members are going to be taking when many 'famous' content creators quit their 9-5 jobs to pursue creating content on TikTok and YouTube as well as other social media platforms. The future is no more orientated on 'What' and 'Where' but instead it's around 'When'. 'When' will you start? 'When' will you create? 'When' will you make time? 

We live in times were one does not need to worry anymore as the solutions are constantly looking us in the face. Today we gathered to celebrate those that were brave enough to start and submit their content without the fear of 'What if' at the Hallmark House in Johannesburg. Yes, you got it right. We gathered to hear the announcements of all the Nominees for this year's Award Ceremony of which will be hosted on the 10th of September.

Personally speaking, I feel like it must've been a punch to formulate the nominees as each nominee put out their best work and it must have not been easy sourcing the best individuals to judge the submissions. This year has to be the best year in regard to Content Creators being recognised and growing their brands as the internet is active more than ever. Just to also put it out there if you submitted your work but never made it to the shortlist, you don't have to worry as DSTv is granting an opportunity to all Content Creators to create a 'Reaction Video' to 'The Real Housewives of Cape Town' and the winner will not only get an award but they will also get a whopping prize of 'R10 000'.
