@SimulationRxps Debuts His Album #LiveFromElokshin

By @itsmanjobruh on 02/11/2022 in Projects You Should Hear

Cape Town based rapper, SimulationRxps kicks off the year on a high note with his debut album, 'Live From eLokshin'.

Giving listeners the core of township feeling, he blends old school Kwaito, Ringaz and Spidans Rap to tell the stories of Langa, Cape Town, his ghetto. Simulation definitely brings the elements of black youth lifestyle to the forefront with the genres he fuses.

The album's production is largely influenced by Kwaito, with simple, catchy hooks and occasionally “freestyle talk” delivery. Throughout the album he heavily references pioneers of Kwaito such Mandoza and other hit-makers of that era. He also incorporates some clips by Brenda Fassie, Menzi Ngubane (who played the dangerous Mazwi on SABC 1 mini-series, Ubambo Lwami) and even pens an ode to the iconic series Yizo Yizo. Enough to have us all buying Dickies outfits in the morning.

On the album, fellow Cape Town artists Dee Koala, Bravo Le Roux, Basquit, Khanyisile Qha and Amilca Mezarati help him describe ghetto life while discussing fashion, gang affiliations, financial blessings, sexual prowess, and pursuing your dreams. The producers responsible for making listeners bop their heads, do some fancy footwork, and throw gang signs up are: Do2, Eziah, Orish, Roscosteaszy, Sonic Boom, LD Beats, Lynxmack, Denilson, SyreCPT and Saint Floyd.
