Singer-songwriter Viwe Tyolwana releases her sophomore EP titled, 'Ngoku' translated to 'Now'. 'Ngoku' is a purely South African R&B/Soul project that delves into the male/female dynamic from Viwe’s perspective, complimented by her sultry delivery and her authentic chill-inducing Xhosa expressions.
With her trademark intensity and sensational vocals, the South African artist delivers a new level of honesty and passion that we've all now come to expect from her sound on 'NGOKU'.
The EP includes guest appearances by Limpopo artist and super -producer Lincoln Long and Unmuted’s very own ” Don’t be Dope “Rapper–Draper. To solidify the projects authenticity Viwe’s mother can be heard on the offering as well, her voice adding a haunting appeal that is relatable to anyone who finds themselves in the middle of the “Joburg hustle”. The project features production predominantly by Unmuted co-founder Lincoln Long and South African Award winning producer John Lundun.
"'Ngoku' is a reflection of some of the perspectives I hold about living my life with some kind of immediacy and accountability. For me , this E.P screams “Tell the truth about what you want” even if you change your mind later , just go for it! I think we are all already doing our best and so we might as well do it with compassion, authenticity and most of all JOY.” shares Viwe.
“As an independent singer and songwriter , I hope people get an opportunity to listen to the album from the beginning right to end. For me, that is the true prize.” Viwe concludes.
