It's a brand new year, and 2022 is promising to be a fruitful year for music lovers and creators. 11 months ago, we were saddened by the news that singer, songwriter, rapper and producer J Molley had taken a break from the music industry to prioritize his mental health.
Today, we look at a timeline of events that occurred to lead us to today's discussion - We might be seeing the return of J Molley this year, as soon as this month even... Take a ride with us:
In October 2020, J Molley released his mixtape, 'All Is Fair In Love & War' which was an impressive 14 tracker body of work that featured the likes of Costa Titch, Yanga Chief, C Kay, Riky Rick, Frank Casino, Burningforestboy, Focalistic and Nadia Nakai.
That same month, J Molley and his NeverBroke team held a listening session at Rockets, Bryanston that saw the faces of Sho Madjozi, Costa Titch, Khanya Mkangisa, Nota Baloyi, Maglera Doe Boy, Marcus Harvey, Tshego, Nanette and many more supporting the boy as he launched his mixtape.

J Molley also released the 'On Camera' music video featuring Riky Rick and Frank Casino which currently sitting on over 180K views on YouTube.
It was pretty obvious that J Molley was in a great space at that time and was super active. So much that he featured on his stable mate KashCPT's song, 'Ja$mine' from his debut album 'Cape Town Radio' and appeared in the official music video the following month;
In December of 2020, J Molley continued his feature streak as he featured on Willy Cardiac's song, 'TBT' and on his performance DJ's EP 'AMIEVERSOBER' on a song titled, 'Have You All'..

In February 2021, it was the last we heard from J Molley, as he released the 'Get The Rack$' music video featuring Bragga aka Nadia Nakai. Unknowingly, this was the last piece of music material from J Molley for the rest of the year..
Unfortunately, J Molley had been overworked and his mental health took some strain, as he took the decision to book himself into an institute to better himself. A press release from his team, NeverBroke (Home to KashCPT, J Molley, Nasa & AmIEverSober) was sent out on social media on the 12th of March on behalf of Molley. This raised concerns to the fans/supporters as J Molley's previous tweets were suicidal...

This lead to Molley removing all his images from his Instagram account and changed his display pic across all his social media, creating a mystique image while he took some time off from the music industry and relocated to Cape Town for recovery.
For the past 11 months, J Molley hasn't been seen or said a word on social media nor have his team updated anyone regarding his recovery journey. But, because I am always on my toes and in the streets like that, I realized that J Molley is finally in good form and is working on new music. This conclusion came from some Instagram stories I saw from Yung Nasa. Also, images of him and Blxckie was shared on Instagram just last week! As well as images of him and ShouldbeYuang and Zambian artist WhoIsBluee together. Today a video shared by KreativeKornerr has surfed the internet and it looks like J Molley was at a music video shoot. Comments from Yung Nasa mention that Molley has something prepared for his fans THIS MONTH!
It's great to see that J Molley has been doing well since his hiatus, and it's exciting times to see him return to the spotlight this year. Could we possibly get an album from him this year? We don't know yet. Let us know below if you're excited about this return as much as we are.
