People releasing music on a Sunday is a bit unusual but I'm glad that Hunter Rose made that decision because I feel like it's meant to be consumed on a Monday to heal your blues. Hunter Rose has sneaked her way into being one of my top R&B artists that I reach for because of the content of her music. This EP really describes the never-ending rollercoaster that is my brain. There are times where I feel like I'm energised and I forget about all my problems like on the song 'Get It' but most of the time I feel like 'All on you' is the soundtrack to my life and I felt like she was the voice in my head when she said,
"There's so much to say
there's so much to do but it feels like the worlds running after you
it caving in on you, it's running up on you"
I think the simple relatability of her music is her calling card. Sometimes things just need to be said just as they are. Lo-fi music is downtempo by nature and I think that goes along beautifully with her voice and the subject matter of her music. I'm sure that everyone has tried listening to lo-fi music when they're studying because it calming, and most importantly, not distracting but I wouldn't be mad if I played a lo-fi beat and Hunter Rose was singing, but ONLY her though:) Stream 'Silver Lining' below.
