For the first time, Apple Music shares the Top 100 2021: Fitness chart—spotlighting the most-played workout music across Apple Music and Fitness+—besides its Top 100 Streamed Songs, Top 100 Shazamed Songs and Top 100 Most-Read Lyrics! These global charts highlight and celebrate another incredible year in music, and together they provide a truly unique and global perspective on the year's biggest music.

South Africa

• The Apple Music 2021 Year End Music Charts in South Africa sees Amapiano producer Busta 929 & the late Mpura top the Top Songs of 2021 charts with their #1 single 'Umsebenzi Wethu’ which dominated the country’s airwaves and dance floors last summer.
• It was another strong year for South African artists on the charts, with over 44% of the Top 100 songs of the year and 26% of the Top 100 albums of the year on Apple Music in South Africa.
• Drake’s latest album 'Certified Lover Boy' shattered streaming records around the world and was the #1 album of 2021 on Apple Music in South Africa. The highest charting South African album of 2021 was Afrikaans artist Riaan Benade’s debut album ’Spontaan’ .
• Drake was also the #1 artist of the year on Apple Music in South Africa and the highest charting local artist was Amapiano king Kabza de Small.
• Kwiish SA Feat. Njelic, MalumNator & De Mthuda’s single ‘LiYoshona’ was the #1 most Shazamed song of the year and Kabza De Small was the most Shazamed artist of the year in South Africa.
