Five years ago the music industry was buzzing with a lot of new talent, and this was the time that many people wanted to pursue their careers as either rappers, singers and producers. During this time, it seemed possible to get entry into the music industry as we witnessed the breakthrough of eMTee, Nasty C, A-Reece, Tshego and Shekhinah just to name a few.
That same year The North Gawd, Da L.E.S introduced us to a talented dj by the name of DJ D Double D who came into the game as Da L.E.S' personal tour dj. Double D then debuted his first single "One For The Team" which featured Da L.E.S (which made practical sense, to help elevate the brand). He wasn't alone on the song though, "One For The Team" also featured Gemini Major and Yanga Chief. The music video followed shortly under the Fresh 2 Def production that same year and is now currently sitting on 62 thousand views on YouTube.
Being the first media outlet to show DJ D Double D some love, we had to visit him and the team in studio to talk about the single and the relationship between the artists.
Missing those days? Make sure you play "One For The Team" today just for nostalgic purposes!
