Almost every record label in the world is either distributed by, a part of or a subsidiary of one of 3 record labels. Those record labels are Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. These 3 record labels are referred to as the 'major' record labels and they essentially run the entire industry across the world. So let's take a look at some of the iconic Hip Hop labels that fall under these 3 major record labels. 

Universal Music GroupUniversal Music Group is home to labels like Def Jam, Interscope, Capitol Record as well as record owned smaller rapper owned stables like Aftermath Entertainment, G.O.O.D. Music and Dreamville. Here are a few iconic rap albums released under the Universal Music Group umbrella.
