It's not often we get artists who've been in the game to start a record label, especially having to leave one. Over the years we've seen the launch of record labels such as Family Tree, Ambitiouz Entertainment and Mabala Noise just to name a few - who have housed many great acts that we have today such as the likes of A-Reece, Nasty C, Tshego, Nadia Nakai, Riky Rick, Emtee, Sjava, Saudi, Fifi Cooper, Blaq Diamond and more.
Having to leave Family Tree earlier this year, Nadia Nakai announced her departure from the stable on the second episode of Backyard Sessions with Siya Metane in July 2021. This was the first time she had announced this publicly and many fans were left with mixed emotions as she was the only artist left under Cassper Nyovet's wings at Family Tree. Nakai did however mention that she would venture into being independent and possibly starting up a record label (which then she never had a name for)...
Today, Nadia Nakai has stepped into her boss lady shoes and is taking control of the male dominant industry as she has the honour to start up her newly found company and record label called BRAGGA RECORDS. This is Nadia's next important and biggest step into her next chapter as she hopes for all the best.
Congratulations are in order to this hard working hip-hop rapper and to more blessings to be shined on her journey.
I’m so excited about the next chapter of my life! Here’s to officially starting my own record label BRAGGA RECORDS. I wouldn’t beable to do this without @casspernyovest and @familytreeworld THANK YOU for all that you invested in me over the years! pic.twitter.com/ofWfHilHIE
