Budding independent singer-songwriter, PRETTYMUCHDON has debuted his EP "Louder Than Words". If he is not busy with his current 9-5 work, he is consumed by music, and as a result, has presented us "Louder Than Words".
"Louder Than Words", which has been in the works for the past twelve months is a project about PRETTYMUCHDON’s experience of love, and the journey to understanding how this phenomenon called ‘love’ works. The project navigates the uncertainties that come with falling in love through reimagined R&B/soul soothing drums, keys, ethereal synths, and acoustic guitar riffs laced underneath his sultry deep soulful vocals. It is a collection of heartfelt harmonic songs that represent the stages of love. From meeting a stranger, who becomes your lover, best friend, and soulmate, to losing them and becoming strangers again. The opening track titled “Mantra” invites listeners to go on a journey with the singer through some of his epiphanies about self-worth, courage and empowerment: “Often I doubt myself to a point where I think I’m not good enough. But that time is gone, I’ve tapped into a different energy.” Throughout his project, PRETTYMUCHDON showcases a balance between his laidback, intimate, and mid-tempo tunes. On “Monopoly”, PRETTYMUCHDON advocates for polyamory and shares his experience of trying out a non-monogamous relationship. He sings about allowing himself to feel all different kinds of the love and not restricting himself to just one dimensional way of love. Beautifully relayed on these lyrics: “I don’t care what the world got to say I’m doing me, as long as I’m happy, let’s get with it.” Just as daring, is his extended version of his first ever single to be released “Lights Out” which turns the drum-heavy break-up song into a sultry, assertive, and fuller R&B tune with his harmonies and ad-libs. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back evening or a theme song to go with your current relationship, “Louder Than Words” is your secret ingredient, and is easily relatable.
