Kilo Kami has dropped off his new single, teaming up once again with collaborator Kashcpt. The new “Fade Away” is the duo’s sequel to their 2020 collaboration “Dreams”, a fan favorite for both Kilo and KashCPT.
Led by a smooth guitar-driven beat that Kilo produced, Kash is all the way in his melodic bag, setting the tone of this emotional track right from the start.
The lyrics speak to the mixed emotions of unrequited love. It’s when you love a person so deeply you can’t let them go, but you want them to be happy, even if not with you. It’s a contradictory state of mind.
When asked about the track and why he wanted to work with Kashcpt again, Kilo commented: “I actually made this beat initially as a pitch to a few artists that I had studio sessions setup with, but in the back of my mind, I knew I wanted to keep this one for Kash. He is one of my favorite songwriters and collaborators and I just knew that he would get what I wanted for the song straight away.”
Coming off a great 2021 and looking ahead, Kilo knows exactly what he wants to accomplish in 2022. “I wanna say that Fade Away sets the tone for what’s to come, but that would be a lie.” Kilo concludes.” I am producing so many different kinds of tracks at the moment and I’m also in the process of making my first EP, so yeah, I am very excited!“
