Hip-hop artist, Yanga Chief is gearing up for the 2nd edition of his highly successful event called Famous Friends which will take place on the 3rd of October 2021. The event which is entirely based on South African hip hop, was started after Yanga engaged in debates on social media around whether the genre was dead in the country. In an effort to prove his point that SA Hip Hop is more than alive, he organized a strictly hip hop party on the 4th of September and invited his industry peers aka “Famous Friends” to join him in showing that SA Hip Hop is thriving worldwide. The event took place in Sandton24 Central and saw a long list of SA Hip Hop royalty in attendance with performance by the likes of AKA, Kwesta, Costa Titch and more.
With the success of the first addition, Yanga has been promoted to have another event, now accessible to the general public. Fans will be able to purchase tickets from Webticket: www.webticket.co.za/v2/event.
The next Famous Friends will take place at Levelthree Premium Venue, Kramerville, Sandton. The experience promises to be a memorable one with the line-up of both established and new wave artists. The line-up is packed with hip hop heavy weights such as Slikour, Stogie T, 25K, Tshego, AKA and DJ Speedsta to name a few.
The first event drew in plenty of attention and made a notable impact on South African pop culture. In order to build on the momentum, Famous Friends has partnered with Fitch & Leeds, Sportscene, Sovereign Brands and Cruz Vodka to help the event become a memorable experience
Excitement for the event is mounting as SA hip hop fans get ready to celebrate the genre which they hold so closely to their musical hearts.
