@namakau_star is 'Floating' in her new music video

By @Lesiba on 08/17/2021 in Music Video

When I think of Namakau Star as an artist, I struggle to believe that she wasn't... well... the way she is. You get the feeling when you listen to her music that she has always been unapologetically Namakau. She feels and sounds like a person who has embraced themself to the fullest. The first song I had heard by her was titled 'Trance'. I was immediately captured by her indie vibe. Namakau Star is the type of artist that I would play if someone ever dared to tell me that South Africa doesn't have a strong indie scene. I was part of a zoom session hosted by 'House of Soul' and Namakau Star spoke about she hates artists that put effort into their cover art. I'm telling you this because Namakau is an artist who takes every single piece of their art seriously. She doesn't make excuses or compromises on the quality of her output and the music video for 'Floating' is an example of that. The music video is beautifully shot and features amazing edits of her literally floating. Namakau Star embodies the spirit of indie artists. A creative who finds a way to make their vision come to life by being true to themselves. I honestly can't wait for Namakau Star to release her EP because she is just a talent. Watch the music video for 'Floating' below.
