Spit for Change is a conscious rap project by The Foundation M.

By using the vehicle of Conscious hip hop rap music, Spit for Change aims at challenging young lyricists to compose and perform lyrics that are thought provoking, highlighting the areas where they come from, their heritage and the daily challenges we are facing as a people to bring about positive change within our communities.

The primary objectives of SPIT FOR CHANGE is to strengthen communities of all races, creed and religion across the North West. This project will also prepare applicants with the right tools to enter the professional world of the entertainment industry. Unearthing local talent and bringing hope in these difficult times is a key focus of Spit For Change.

The Competition will include the Backstage Lectures Entertainment Entrepreneurship Program facilitated by Towdeemac who will also be accompanied by two other Industry Professionals on the Judges Panel. The Judges will award the top three Lyricists at the end of all the elimination rounds in which competitors will be given Lyrical Challenges to execute for points. The 3rd placed Lyricist will receive R5000, the 2nd placed Lyricist will receive R10 000 and the winner will receive R30 000 and the opportunity to record a 6 Track EP and a Music Video.
