As promised, Pretoria rapper, Blaklez, delivers his first project offering for the year 2021, after a successful 2020 with 2 EP’s under his name and a collaboration album with long time collaborator Pdot O for Lost Diamonds. The project, Don't Mind The BS, comes through with a total of 5 tracks with features from Pdot O, Thapelo Mashiane, Streetz, and MgucciFab_TheDJ, and on this, the rap Steve Biko samples some of the classics we've had.
Executive produced by Blaklez himself and Thapelo Mashiane, Don't Mind The BS, maintains a consistent theme of cool and chilled, which most definitely can be associated with the rapper. The EP starts off nice and smooth with "Turn The Lights Off," which featuring Pdot O, over a melodic trumpet sample. The next track "Smile Keepers" has Blaklez talking about the smile keeper in his life and how they hit it off.
Thapelo Mashiane jumps on the hook on the third song called "All The Right Things," while MGucciFab the DJ is on the second verse. “Don’t leave your girl around me ke vaya le di sniper, di striker, di hunter eish okare di cider” is a stand out line on Ra Rocka and it comes as no surprise as Showtime is known for his smart and witty lines. Ra Rocka is a heavy Boom Bap joint for the rap streets which has been sampled from the classic single "It Rocks" by the brothers; Ramesh, Fortune and the Naked DJ:
On the last track, Blaklez jumps on yet another sample, this time from the famous Janet Jackson "Got Til It's Gone." Be sure to vibe to the brand new EP below;
