@speedstabro Celebrates The Skate Hub Opening & His Plaques & Talks Brands Copying Artists [Part 1]

By @Nokulunga_Maqubela on 10/22/2020 in On The Ground

Becoming the highest selling hip hop DJ in South Africa, DJ and producer, Speedsta, reached a magnificent milestone with his music just a week ago. With his singles "I Don't Know" featuring J Molley, Zoocci Coke Dope, and Frank Casino going 7x Platinum; "Mayo" featuring Yung Swiss, Tellaman, Shane Eagle and Frank Casino, 9x Platinum; "Combo's Communicating" featuring Okmalumkoolkat going Gold; as well as the "Bottlebush Str" mixtape going Gold as well, we can't help but deny this to being anything but massive.

To celebrate, DJ Speedsta invited us to the opening of his Skate Hub situated in Wynburg between Sandton and Alex just off the Marlboro off-ramp. Starting off the conversation, Speedy breaks down each plaque and tells Slikour what each one is for. From there on, the chat switches to brands and how they copy artists' work without crediting the actual source. An intense but vital conversation, press play below to watch the first part of On The Ground with Slikour and DJ Speedsta;
