iSambulo (meaning the Revelation) is a compilation album coming out of new record label 1020 Cartel. The project features the stable’s four new signees namely; Mzukulu, Nue_Sam, Anzo, as well as Yallunder. The 10 track project transcends genres, fusing maskandi, hip hop, soul, and poetry into a sound coined African Trap, a sub-genre developed by producer Ruff Nkosi who has been the magic hand behind the sound of Sjava (with whom he co-owns 1020 Cartel), Emtee and Saudi, all of whom have gained international recognition for their individual projects. The label is using the album as a platform to introduce each of its artists as well as a launchpad to release their solo projects in the near future.
