@ItsPriddyUgly Opens Up About His Former Label

Priddy Ugly has recently independently released a brand new project, G.O.A.T, which served as his third body of work for this year, including the works he did with his wife and partner Bontle Modiselle. Prior to independence, Priddy had left his former label without stating any reasons why. After an incident of his music being reportedly removed from certain music streaming services, Priddy has taken to social media to express his frustrations with this issue, as well as reveal certain events that drove him to leave his former record label;

@Apple responded by stating that they were not responsible for this & that only the aggregator or label can authorize this action.

We are looking into who is responsible for this, I have a good idea who the culprit may be, I just don’t know what the reason is. I will say this though, WA NYELA!!!

We recorded EGYPT while I was signed to that other label, all on our own.
They never commissioned or payed ANY of the producers & session musicians involved, they were not involved in the record of the music, I payed for the album sleeve MYSELF (10K) & they don’t have any seps.

I never, not once used their studio facilities ever!!
We did our own listening session once the album dropped, after they said they weren’t going to do one.
I asked them to print shirts (10K worth), we covered everything else - banners, food, art gallery, venue, gift bags, sound.

The album dropped & literally no interviews were conducted or arranged, until I complained about the lack of push, & at that time the interviews that I did get, were arranged by me, personally. I kept asking for a media plan, touring plan or any plan for that matter, for months!

Let it be known that Apple & my Aggregator (which I handle personally) have stated that they do not remove anyone’s content, the label or aggregator do. So if I release my music independently, on my own & I didn’t remove the music myself, I have records of that.

If I wasn’t of value to them while I was there, & I’m clearly doing my thing without them, I’m clearly not charting above or against their artists - what I do on my own shouldn’t be a threat, right?? I CAN’T be a threat.
