@ItsYangaChief Speaks On How He Met @akaworldwide , Getting Love From Soweto & Xhosa Rap

By @Nokulunga_Maqubela on 11/22/2019 in Balcony Interview

More than anything, this series of the Balcony Interview was more reflective and reminiscent more than anything. Most people might think Yanga Chief is fairly new in the scene, but the man has been playing in the field for quite a long time. This is proven on the first, second and on the last part of the Balcony Interview.

For the final one, the Song of the Year award holder speaks on how he felt like there was an unfair bias towards Xhosa rappers in the game when he entered. However, he found a place that showed him love when he went to Soweto, and this is where the artist has been drawing his strength. Yanga once mentioned that's he'll one day reveal what AKA did for, on the Balcony, Yanga reveals how he met AKA, and shares a backstory of how he was convinced that English rap would never work in South Africa, but that doubt did not last for too long. Watch the third and final episode of the Balcony Interview with Yanga Chief below;
