What connection is there between art and sneakers? Scoop Makhathini finds out as he catches the wave in Cape Town for part 2 of the 10th episode.
When animation met up with the fine arts and a great skill of working with hands, the results that came were that of the multi-skilled artist Dada Khanyisa. Using wood to craft and form meaningful pieces of art, her visual interests are invested in texture and multiple dimensions; as a result creating sculptural paintings and relate-able objects focused on human conditions. The Cape Town based artist takes Scoop Makhathini through her life and art. From that, he heads to the Sneaker Cartel as he gets in the shoes of co-founder Rolo Rozay, getting him to share his story. His enthusiasm for streets culture has put him in the forefront of the sneaker game as well as a connoisseur of it. Ride along with Scoop as he takes a walk in Rolo's shoes out in Cape Town.
