For the first time ever, Tshego joins Slikour on The Balcony. In the first part of his interview, Tshego shares about his formative years and how he came up in music. What many may not know is that Tsghego was born in the United States and spent the majority of his primary school life there. When he was 12, he moved back to South Africa and later settled in Mafikeng.
However, his time in Johannesburg is where the Tshego that we know today. From when he first came out as "Shag" to when he decided to become Tshego, the rappers get into what went into making the "Tshego" brand. He also gets into the nature of his relationship with Family Tree. There has been speculation about what it actually means to be part of Family Tree, particularly where the legalities are involved. For this reason, Tshego shared how he technically never signed to Family Tree. He credits this in part to Cassper's understanding of what a formal agreement could do to the flow of an artist. Granted, while that may not be advisable for all, it worked out well for him.
Furthermore, Tshego explains how he's managed to get to a point where he feels confident to debut. The conversation between Slikour and Tshego flows and the "No Ties" rapper is candid with how he relays his story. Take a look at the newest Balcony Interview below!
