The state of Ambitiouz Entertainment artists has been the topic of music industry discourse over the past few years. Concern over the welfare of artists associated with the label has increasingly spawned more outcry for answers and justice. Most recently, Emtee's situation and relationship with the infamous label has raised eyebrows over the past few months.
Finally, Emtee has released a public statement regarding his relationship with Ambitiouz Entertainment. In a post on social media, the rapper shared that he wanted to ensure that he was legally clear to leave before announcing or engaging in terminating his agreement with the label. He went on to note that he formally severed ties with Ambitiouz on Thursday, August 8, 2019. More so, indicating the reason for announcing his departure in this matter had more to do with providing clarity for his fans, family, and friends.

At no point did Emtee suggest what caused his departure, rather keeping his statement brief and to the point. Since he published his statement, an outpouring of support has come out for him. At the same time, this support is also met with the recollection of some of the comments about Ambitiouz. One Twitter user shared a clip from POPcast wherein Scoop Makhathini expresses his indignance towards the label's behaviour regarding the intersection of their business practices and impact on the lives of talented black artists.
Big ups to Scoop for this. pic.twitter.com/Ohove6odP7

There is no telling what's next for Emtee, however, it is fair to say that this time around, he'll be the driving force behind the moves he makes going forward.
