We all love a good podcast and The Sobering is renowned for producing stellar ones at that! In the past couple of weeks, they've sat down with Muzi, Darkie Fiction, and Nadia Nakai. Split into two episodes, Muzi and Darkie Fiction sit down with the hosts of the series in the "Afropunk Special" episode.
The five of them get into their respective relationships with Afropunk. For Darkie Fiction, when the first Afropunk came to South Africa came about, they initially rejected the idea of competing for a performance slot through the Battle Of The Bands competition of 2017. However, they were always confident that their time would come organically, and sure enough, it did. Muzi also opens up about his relationship with playing gigs at different types of events and sharing sounds that come naturally in Africa then taking it everywhere. The conversation gets spirited at times, but you have to listen to get the full story.
In another episode, the hosts of The Sobering discuss the work and life of Nadia Nakai. She's been in the game for years and recently debuted her first album Nadia Naked. The get into the beginnings of her career as well as how she's been presented to the public. They get into not only image but also into how she's begun sharing her personal story over the years through her music. Nadia also announces that she's still working on Bossing Up With Bragga and working out the rollout of her album visuals.
