DJ Kaymo has united hip-hop lovers of the Vaal, Pretoria, and Katlehong by bringing Espiquet, 25k, and Reason together on the same track. "The Come Up," is the newest drop from this set of hip-hop participants. With a fire beat, composed by HOPE MA$TA, DJ Kaymo brings together these three rappers, whom one wouldn't necessarily expect on a song together.
The song considers the job of artists constantly chasing their dreams on the road, meanwhile many of their peers had the opportunity to rest. It's about pushing relentlessly towards achieving the dream. The repetition of each rapper regarding how important making money was int heir own "come ups" indicates the overarching sense of urgency for musicians to be able to earn enough to sustain themselves well off the strength of their art.
