Tumblr had a short-lived but explosive moment in the formation of South African pop culture as we know it today. Back in the early 2010s, young people perfectly curated blogs on Tumblr. One particular clique was that of the Vini Boys, a fashion-forward, vintage style, group of popular boys in Pretoria. One member, Nokana Mojapelo, has since continued his work in creative spaces, branching into fashion and music.
Since his time running the streets of Pretoria, the man has launched his own fashion label as well as a music career under the name Windows 2000. This year, he debuted his EP, Software Overdrive. He also features on uSanele's 2019 track, "Skellies."
