@LungeloManzi Is Unlearning & Creating A New Future On "Black Dog 2"

By @Nokulunga_Maqubela on 04/30/2019 in Projects You Should Hear

Durban rapper, singer, and composer, Lungelo Banele Dlamini, aka Lungelo Manzi, released his debut EP Black Dog in the year 2016. Carving his own path within the hip hop industry, his sound is unique and could be easily identified as his. Manzi's subject matter is another factor that sets him apart from most, focusing on social issues and heartbreak, self-discovery and love. His choice of message is widely spread across to different subjects. And he is not afraid to fully express his mind and concerns about the issues that affect him and those around him. The fact is, Lungelo can't be boxed.

When you see him, call him Mr. Manzi! Having been one of our SOL Incubators, he makes a come back with the second installation of the 3-part Black Dog series. The first track that prepared us for this release was the twisted love story "Cold Feet," which he dropped in February 2018. Black Dog 2 is officially here as a 12-track body of work, all produced by Lungelo Manzi himself, with only four tracks with features. The narrative is that of a young man, raised by a single mother, with very few positive male figures. He unlearns his upbringing while creating a brand new future for himself. It's Mr. Manzi to you, check out his "Black Dog 2" EP below:
