Say what you want about social media, but being able to reach musicians with whom you'd like to collaborate. For SOL Incubator artist, Mass The Difference, Twitter helped him reach his rap dream collaborator, Cassper Nyovest. Live on the timeline, Cassper not only co-signed Mass The Difference, but he offered to jump on a track.
While the two rappers have never met in person, the two rappers have flow and synergy. The beat is laid back, making space for the two to push their pens and tell the story of their choice. Mass The Difference opens the track, "What's Wrong With Me." True to Cassper's analysis, and per our own knowledge of his participation in the SOL Incubator program, he's nice. "If you dancing with a devel, do you go to hell," Mass questions to open the track. He speaks about issues in the rap game, and, like any rapper, he boasts about his musical skill in response to some of the comments he's heard about himself.
At this point, Cassper enters the beat smoothly but explosively. His verse makes commentary on gender-based violence, public response to GBV, and later he follows up with comments on what he describes as "glorified prostitution." Before the track ends, Cassper gives his well-wishes to Mass The Difference in a sweet message, ending off with "See you...at the top."
We've known Mass The Difference has the chops but coupled with Cassper's vote of confidence, SA's hip-hop community has even more reason to pay attention. Check out their new joint, "What's Wrong With Me," below!
