Recent events occurred at the University of Witswaterand as students were violated and injured in attempts to register for the current academic year while still owing the institution for the past years of study. To make their voices heard, the SRC went on to embark on a hunger strike, demanding accommodation and registration for students who had historical debt. Joining in to support the students was rapper AKA as he donated R100 000 to the WITS Humanitarian fund as well as gave out food to the students. This is how it all went down:
