Rap is a sport, and at times it is important to have fun with it.
When was the last time you heard someone jump on a classic rap beat just for the fun of it? I'll wait. Fresh off seeing Nas perform at the Ms Lauryn Hill tour concert, Ras jumped on his "N.Y. State of Mind" beat the same day, remember Illmatic? Yup! Leaving no keys, he straight up locked the bars in, with lines like, "I'm old school, time to get ya'll expelled. I mess with the mumbles too and do it well. I'm in a mood, the time is right and I ain't R-Kells, cause I don't mess with 'em 16s somebody ring a bell," ishuuuu! What happened to rap? Nothing, Ras is still rapping, on a Nas beat. Check it out:
