After announcing the song last week, J.Cole finally drops his much anticipated T-Minus assisted on production, Middle Child, as his first release for 2019 after he owned the scene last year with his album KOD.
Starting off with horns that are heard throughout the song, Cole maintains a steady flow as he solidifies and needs no validation on his greatness, "I studied the greats, I'm the greatest right now." He raps about his relationship with Drake mentioning how they are both legends, and they coexist despite people having tried putting them head to head in hopes that they start beefing. He also mentions Jay Z, Kodak Black, and 21 Savage. "Middle Child" comes after the announcement that the Dreamville team is working on a collaboration project "Revenge Of The Dreamers III," it sure is going to be one hell of a year for the Dreamvillas and their fans.
