Smokepurpp is one of the pioneers of what has come to be known as SoundCloud rap. A lot of people have been critical of this new type of hip hop music, however, it has become extremely popular with artists like Lil Pump, Lil Uzi Vert, and Purpp going on to become household names in the game. He looks to exploit this position today as he drops off a new single ahead of his Deadstar 2 project titled But I Still Respect Women.
Don't let the title fool you, this song has little, if anything, to do with respecting women. It sees Purpp employ the same sound that brought him prominence and rap about how he does not love these h%$es and he is unapologetic about it. He also addresses his issues with Russ in the song and it's clear that the two won't be buddy buddy anytime soon. The rapper uses the title to remind fans that he still has respect for the ladies, which is what we should all do I believe. Deadstar 2 is set for release soon, as Purpp claims to be putting finishing touches to the project. Take a listen and let us know your thoughts on But I Still Respect Women.
